Be a Part of our Hero Squad!
We are excited to announce our partnership with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to raise money to support cancer research. We officially kick off our fundraising campaign on Monday, February 22, and it will run through March 12. Next week, your student will be coming home with their own collection box and a flyer that explains all of the exciting ways to support this mission. This event emphasizes the importance of social and emotional learning and gaining the experience of helping both children and adults in their fight against cancer. Check out our school page at https://events.lls.org/pages/rm/Severance-Middle-School-2021 and get started with online donations today.
When heroes work together, we can change cancer!
Annual Family Check In
Every year we ask parents to update their family information, complete required forms and to verify their student will be attending a Weld RE-4 school for the 2021-22 school year. There is a new feature this year-families can opt for their children to receive a Clearview Library District School Card, which will provide them access to library resources to support their learning both online and offline. Please log on to your CAMPUS PARENT PORTAL account to complete the Annual Family Check In.
After Logging on:
- Select More (left side bar)
- Select Annual Family Check In
- Follow the workflow to verify and/or update your information
Laptop or desk top computers are the best way to complete the Annual Family Check In as the process is not optimized for mobile devices (smartphones and iPads).
For planning purposes, please complete the AFC update process as soon as possible.
If you have questions about Campus Parent, the Annual Family Check In, need to set up a parent portal account or need your portal password reset, please contact us at 970 833-7200.

Athletic COVID Fact Sheet
As middle school sports start, there are some questions around what it looks like and what guidelines athletes will follow. I am hoping this fact sheet helps you understand the guidelines. Please reach out if you have any other questions.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
We are following all CDPHE, CHSAA, Weld County, Approved Larimer County Variances and District Guidelines. We host games/matches in Weld county, but play in the NCAC League based out of Larimer County (Thompson School District).
Only anyone within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes is considered a close contact.
Each event allows 2 spectators per athlete. Athletes will be given tickets that they can give to any 2 adults to watch their student. There will NOT be additional fans, teachers, or students allowed in the gym.
The gym bleachers have been marked with an ‘x’ where spectators can sit. They are required to sit 6 feet from each other. Our gym cannot exceed 50 spectators, 24 athletes and 6 coaches at ANY time.
All home fans will be entering the west gym doors, and all visiting fans will be entering the main doors. They will use separate bathrooms and will not cross/pass each other during any event at SMS.
Daily screening of athletes is taken and tracked.
Masks for ALL will be required at ALL times!
BASKETBALL GUIDELINES:
All players will wear a mask at all times (even during play)
Water bottles must contain a straw as removal of the mask for a water break is not permitted.
There is a team max of 12 players. 7th and 8th grade will practice in the afternoon and 6th in the morning.
Each team will be treated as their own cohort. If one player or coach tests positive or is a presumed positive, the entire team will be quarantined per district and county guidelines for 10 days. These students will livestream for all of their classes for the 10 day period. They also would forfeit all games during that time.
SEASON DATES:
Boys Basketball: Feb. 22- March 25
Football: TBD...approx March-May
Volleyball: March 24-April 24
Swimming: March-April
Track: April 19-May 21
