Habitats!
Our Scholastic News article this week was all about the topic of Habitats. We learned that a habitat is where an animal or plant lives. We are going to be starting a research project in the LRC next week. We will select a habitat, and use the iPads to help us research and learn about the habitat we chose! Keep an eye out for our final project at open house!

Classbuilding
On Monday we got back into the swing of things by sharing some of our favorite things with our classmates. We did an activity called Taking Stickies. Each time a classmate had a favorite thing that you also enjoyed, you take the sticky note with that item. By the end of the activity you have a combination of sticky notes from many different classmates. This helps us to see that we have things in common with many different friends in our classroom.
Adding two digit numbers
This week in math we have been busy adding two digit numbers. We learned how important it is to remember which number is in the tens column and which number is in the ones. We used many strategies to help us with this concept. Yesterday we started adding two digit numbers and regrouping.
Reading
We are officially into the 4th quarter! We took the STAR reading test to get our new AR levels, and we are all excited about taking AR tests this quarter. There are new prizes and new goals to achieve! Happy reading!

If anybody is out and about this weekend, we could use some dry erase markers and tape. Thanks for your help!
