The Educational Foundation for Columbia Schools administers scholarships for qualified Columbia Central High School Seniors for the Steinhoff, Neely, Horning, Kennedy, Sitarz, and other family scholarships. The Foundation also raises money to provide scholarships.

Cheer for Charity

Columbia Central Varsity Cheer is hosting the 1st annual Cheer for Charity Invitational benefiting Camp Liberty on February 8, beginning at 6 PM in the CCHS gymnasium. Camp Liberty is an organization in Brooklyn that helps benefit veterans who have been impacted by the emotional, physical, and psychological burdens of war, through outdoor recreation and sports. We hope to see you there!

FAFSA Open House-College and Career Access Center, February 19!

The theme for the dance is "Dress Your Best!' The dance will be held in the Fitness Center gym from 6:30-8:30 PM. More information to follow.

Congratulations Columbia Central High School Band Members!

The Columbia Central High School Band just finished the Solo and Ensemble event, held at Onsted High School this past weekend. We had a number of events earn a medal and even qualify for State Solo and Ensemble. Congratulations on your wonderful performances!

Varsity Sports Report

The cheerleaders finished up league competition on Wednesday placing 4th in the league. First-Team All-Conference honors were awarded to Lexie Hall and Jenna Crawford. Grace Hetke was awarded Honorable Mention. Their next competition is Thursday at Columbia Central beginning at 6 PM.


Girls basketball lost to Blissfield on Thursday and the boys team defeated them Friday 70-59. They both will face Ida on Tuesday with the boys at home and the girls at Ida.


Results of LCAA Conference wrestling meet at Hudson:

4th place - 103 pounds - Lucas Klink

4th place- 112 pounds - Jordan Moore

4th place - 125 pounds - Tommy Ronders


The wrestling team will have Districts in Blissfield on Wednesday.

American 1 Half Court Shot Contest-February 9

Students will register with American 1 outside the gym before half-time for a chance to be chosen to participate. The deadline to sign up will be 30 seconds before the buzzer for half-time. Two names will be randomly selected from the shootout drawing tub. When the student’s name is drawn, they must be present to participate. Each participant will receive two chances to make a half-court shot. If they make one of their shots, they will receive $500 cash and the school will get $1,000! If they fail to make a basket from half-court, they will still receive $50 cash and your school will still receive a $250 donation from American 1 Credit Union. Our athletic department is guaranteed a $250 donation with the potential of earning $1,000 – just for having fun with American 1 Federal Credit Union!

The 8th and 10th grade students will visit the Career Center!

The Jackson Area Career Center will host our students for a visit about their programs. The Career Center offers students an opportunity to learn career and technical skills their junior and senior year. We Need Your Help!

We are in need of volunteers to work the PTO Carnival at CUES this Friday, Feb. 9. We need workers for the second shift from 7-8:30 PM. If you know of any staff, parents, students, older siblings, grandparents, etc. that would be willing to work please let Mrs. O'Neil or Mrs. Hall know a.s.a.p.!

Popcorn Sale for Junior High Student Council

The Junior High will be hosting a popcorn sale on February 9 for all students in grades 7-12. The popcorn is $1.

On behalf of the Golden Eagles Baseball Softball Club, I would like to welcome you to our 2018 season. Our sponsorship drive is in full effect and we need your help. Cascades Prom Closet

Saturday, Feb. 24th, 10am-5pm

This is a community event where girls from Jackson County can buy and sell their used prom dresses. The purpose of this event is to make prom dresses affordable for everyone. Napoleon's NHS will donate $5.00 from every dress sold to a local woman's charity. If you have any questions, please see Olivia Tackett or Allison McDevitt.

Welcome, Ms. Jessica White, to Columbia Central Junior High School!

Ms. White will be transitioning from the CUES building to Columbia Central Junior High School. She will be working in the Resource Room beginning this week. She will also spend part of her day at Options High School working with students. Ms. White has been a teacher with the Columbia School District for the past several years and has established positive relationships with staff and students. In her free time, she likes to exercise and attend sporting events. Welcome, Ms. White! We are so happy to have you!
