Hello Bobcat Families! We only have two more Fridays before the end of the school year if you can believe it! We hope you are having a lovely weekend. Please see several important end of year updates below.
Last Day of School & Afters
Our Last Day of School is Tuesday, June 22nd and it is an early release day - dismissal is at 12:45pm and lunch is a grab and go at the door.
The LAST DAY for Family First, BANC, and YWCA is Friday, June 18th. Please make arrangements for your child's pickup on the school days that follow.
B&G Club will be OPEN for all remaining school days including the last day of school, Tuesday, June 22nd for our early release.
Office Closed
Our Main Office will be closed starting Monday, June 28th. If there is an emergency, please reach out to Mrs. Michaelson at 475-333-1732. Otherwise, our Main Office will re-open on Monday, August 2nd.
iPads this Summer
All student iPads will go home this summer - we ask that you treat your iPads gently and respectfully. They are the property of Greenwich Public Schools, and everyone signed an acceptable use policy agreeing to take care of their iPads when they are in their possession. Current 5th graders will hand in their iPads upon entry to middle school and receive a Chromebook.
Filling in the Blanks - Opt in
Filling in the Blanks is a local non-profit agency, located in Norwalk that provides nutritious meals and snacks to school aged children on the weekends free of charge. They are offering free weekend food to eligible families. If you would like your child to participate in the program, please complete this registration.
Panorama Survey Reminder
Please check your in-box! We want to hear from you and the survey only takes 4-5 minutes.
GPS is administering year-end surveys to parents, students and staff throughout the month of June. The surveys have been condensed so that they can be completed within a matter of minutes. The survey email address is: support+greenwich@panoramaed.com, and the sender is: The Panorama Education Team. The subject line is: 2020-2021 GPS Family Feedback Survey.
Parents may choose to opt out their children (Grades 3-12) from participating in the survey by completing the online form in English or Spanish, no later than tomorrow, June 5.
2021-2022 ESSER Funding Town Hall
What is ESSER? Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund. The District will receive approximately $10.2 million to be utilized for social, emotional, and academic needs. It can also be used for transforming education post-Covid.
We will hold a Virtual Town Hall via Zoom for our community on Wednesday, June 9 from 6:00-7:30 PM to discuss ESSER funding; GPS will share a basic overview of our planning and then will take questions via the chat function. You may also join the session via phone, please dial 646-558-8656 and use Webinar ID: 881 8081 1223. As a reminder, please provide comments using this form to help as we finalize our school plan for next year.

New! Zoom Link to Join Dr. Ross Greene’s Webinar for Parents
The final session for Dr. Ross Greene’s free, four-part webinar series for parents is Tuesday, June 8 from 6:00-7:30 PM with the second session. Participants in this workshop series will gain a further understanding of the underpinnings of the Collaborative & Practical Solutions (CPS) model, its refinements over the past 8-10 years, and practical assessment and intervention tools that can be brought back to and used. The model represents a significant departure from discipline-as-usual: it focuses on solving problems rather than on modifying behavior, emphasizes collaborative rather than unilateral solutions, encourages proactive rather than reactive intervention, de-emphasizes diagnostic categories, and provides practical, research-based tools for assessment and intervention. The Zoom link for the June 8th session is available.

Masks in Schools
As a reminder, the CT Department of Health, along with the CT State Department of Education clarified that “the current rule requiring universal mask wearing for all individuals in all school buildings will remain in place at this time.” However, students will not be required to wear masks outside during times such as recess. Masks are only required outdoors if students are stationary and in close proximity.
Covid Reminder
As a reminder, if someone in your home is symptomatic and awaiting results of a COVID-19 test, please keep your child at home until results are final. We understand that many families proactively test for work or other reasons, and this type of proactive testing for asymptomatic individuals does not require keeping your child at home.
Together in Safety and Learning,
Mrs. Michaelson & Mrs. Eisenstein
