Give with PRIDE: February Project
As part of our Heavilin PRIDE “Give with PRIDE” theme for this year, we our doing several service projects to give back to our community. In February, we are going to continue to Give with PRIDE by writing letters to community members who aren’t able to get out and about. Because February is often associated with Valentine’s Day, this feels like the perfect time of year to send some extra love and communication to those who might not receive letters often.
We’d like to reach out to our amazing Heavilin family community for help on this project. If you have a family member, friend, church member, etc... who is currently homebound or in a residential facility, and you think they would enjoy receiving a letter from a Heavilin student, please send in a STAMPED, ADDRESSED ENVELOPE with their name and address- and we will take care of the rest! Feel free to send as many of these envelopes as you would like!
Please send addressed, stamped envelopes in NO LATER than Friday, February 16th.
In addition, if you work with a residential facility that would be opening to receiving a batch of these letters to distribute, please email Mrs. Blumenthal at eblumenthal@valpo.k12.in.us.
Thank you so much for your support of this project. We can’t wait to work with our Heavilin students to brighten somebody’s day.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Blumenthal, Mrs. Bongard, and Mrs. VanHouten
