Chapter 9 (5.G.1)
Graph points on a coordinate plane
I can identify and show understanding of: coordinate grids, origin, x-axis, y-axis, quadrant 1 and ordered pairs understand how to graph and interperet ordered pairs on a coordinate plane in quadrant 1... Click to the next screen to see learning goal 2
How do you do it??? A coordinate grid has 4 quadrants, a x-axis and a y-axis. This particular grid is used to plot ordered pairs. In order to plot ordered pairs... ex. (2,-3) on a coordinate grid you have to use the y and x-axis You would find the 2 in quadrant 4 and the -3 in quadrant 3 then go 3 spaces down and 2 places over. After this you should have your ordered pair (2,-3) ploted as so. Finally you would give your ordered pair a name such as A, Y, or any other labels. | Practice what you learned Now lets grab a piece of grid paper and try some practice problems...
