Southview's Parent Newsletter

We are Southview Strong!
We are having some AMAZING days here at Southview! I have some great news. Our school has moved from a LS1 school to LS2 school because of our great growth on our 3rd grade ACAP scores. We applaud the students and teachers from third grade on last year. However, we know that first-second grade teachers played a major part and the entire school as a collective. Thank you parents for sending our scholars ready to learn each day. It is really paying off. Also, huge shout out to our parents that volunteered to help with lunch duty to give our teachers a duty free lunch today.
Next Week will be a busy week!
Please make a note of the following:
Picture Day is Friday October 28. Also, next week is Drug Free Awareness Week (see flyer below). Students may wear costumes on Monday, October 31 for a donation to our photo club of $1.

Arrival and Dismissal
We will go back to only one main drop off for arrival this week. We tried a second drop for 3-5 due to high rain percentages last week. Only about 20 parents took advantage of it. Please have students ready to get out promptly upon arrival. For the older and more independent students, they do not have to wait until someone opens the door. Please pull down as far as you can and keep the traffic tight. This will help the traffic flow smoothly. Please DO NOT get out of your vehicles. Stay in the car rider line. If students wish to eat breakfast, they must arrive by 7:55. You are TARDY after 7:55 and must sign students in at the front office.
We have mastered dismissal and are done by 3:05 p.m. Please make sure students are picked up by 3:10 each day or a $7 fee per child will apply. Please stay in the traffic circle at all times and use the carpool name tags. Please DO NOT get out of your vehicle to retrieve students. This is a safety issue. Please place car tags on a pants hanger in the review mirror if possible or place it on the passenger side of your vehicle.
