Cultural Differences in Greece Part 2
While on our Peloponnese trip there were many cultural experiences that I saw, but there was one that primarily has stood out to me this entire time in Greece. The difference is the typical bathroom layouts. In the United States we are accustomed to having male and female restrooms that are clearly identified and are very secluded from one another. This is not so in most restrooms in Greece. Most bathrooms here are very close in proximity and not always well distinguished. This stood out to me the most when we stopped at a gas station (near James home town) whose restrooms were connected almost as if they were one large group bathroom. This mainly reinforces the mindset difference that Americans and Greeks have concerning personal boundaries.
