SKILLED TRADES FAIR

Barrington High School will host its 6th annual Skilled Trades Fair. The event will be held in-person during lunch periods on February 23rd. Students will learn about careers and apprenticeships! This year we will have folks from unions and/or organizations representing Aviation Technicians, Carpentry, Laborers, Electrical, Pipe Fitters, Construction, ICATT Advanced Manufacturing, Cosmetology & Esthetics, Elite Ambulance-Emergency Medical Services and Chicago Glue & Machine Manufacturing/Mechatronics and Agriculture. Students can explore diverse career pathways and meet field experts to discover how you can gain the skills they need - for the career they want! Click here for more information! Contact Marie Mirabella with questions. Check out the Career Trek website for other career exploration events.

SCHEDULING FOR SENIOR YEAR

This week, counselors began meeting with the juniors to review their course requests for senior year and begin finalizing schedules. Here is our course guide for next year.

FALL TESTING RESULTS

Student should sign in to their The College Board account to view scores from the PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 8/9 tests BHS administered in the fall.

By signing in students can explore:

  • CAREERS: Explore careers that you're passionate about on BigFuture by taking the Career Quiz and learning how your test performance aligns to 1,000 occupations with our career readiness indicator.
  • COLLEGES: Search over 3,000 college profiles on BigFuture to discover which colleges and programs are right for you. Filter by location, major, and more.
  • SCHOLARSHIPS: Use your PSAT/NMSQT scores to access scholarships from National Merit Scholarship Corporation, BigFuture Scholarships, and thousands of others.
  • SAT PRACTICE: Send your scores to Khan Academy® for a free, personalized SAT practice plan based on your test results.

As a parent, you too can create an account on The College Board. For directions on creating an account, and the restrictions of a parent account, click here.

If students can not see their scores, they most likely have multiple accounts on The College Board. Students must contact The College Board at 866-630-9305 to have the accounts merged. BHS can not help with merging the accounts on The College Board web site.

See Something, Say Something

Barrington 220 is now partnering with an Illinois school safety helpline aimed at providing students a place to report information that might prevent bullying, suicide, and campus violence. Safe2Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows students to confidentially share school safety issues via a mobile app, text, email, or phone call. You will notice that the "See Something, Say Something" button on our district and school website now links directly to the Safe2Help contact page. We are asking that all students, parents, staff, and community members now use this platform to report safety concerns. In the case of an emergency, call 911.
