CH-UH Educators, Students, Families "ACE" Remote Learning
Annual Update on Infinite Campus Replaces "Blue Cards"
For many years, we provided students with “Blue Cards” on the first day of school for their parents/guardians to fill out important information, including emergency contacts and current email addresses & phone numbers. Beginning this year, the District is instead using the Infinite Campus Annual Update to collect this information.
To access your Annual Update, log in to your Infinite Campus Parent Portal and click More under Index. This document contains step-by-step instructions on how to complete the update. The process takes just a few minutes per student.
If you do not have a Parent Portal account, please submit this form to request one.
If you have any questions about your Parent Portal account or the Annual Update, please call your child’s school or Betsy Gilmore, IT Application Specialist, at 216-320-2042 or b_gilmore@chuh.org.
Quarter 2 - Timeline for Decision-Making
The District will continue to operate in a remote learning status for the remainder of the first quarter, with exceptions for certain Career Tech programs and students with disabilities. After reviewing information and county risk level status with the Board of Education and reopening task forces, the District plans to make a decision on the instructional model for Quarter 2 and notify families during the week of October 19. We'll move forward with the chosen instructional model during the week of November 2.
Heights High Sees Increase in Number of AP Students, Higher Test Scores
CH-UH would also like to congratulate the 52 members of the Classes of 2020 and 2021 who’ve been recognized by the College Board as AP Scholars. The College Board, which administers Advanced Placement tests, honors students across the country who score at a consistently high level on the annual exams.
Two Seniors Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists
Congratulations to Heights High School seniors Maple Buescher and Xavier Routh, who have been named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists!
The National Merit Scholarship Program is an annual academic competition for recognition and college undergraduate scholarships. Maple and Xavier qualified for the award because of their performances on the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test).
Currently, more than 1.5 million students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program each year. Only about 16,000 students were named semifinalists in the program this year, representing less than 1 percent of the nation’s high school graduating seniors. Read more

Parent Surveys Open For Postsecondary Planning System

Surveys are now available online here for parents/guardians to complete. Read more
School Day Support for K-8
The District and Right at School are offering a daytime supervision and support program for grades K-5. This service is taking place at our Wiley campus, 2181 Miramar Boulevard and is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In this program, adults will supervise children as they engage in online learning. It is not a tutoring program, but a support for families. Staff will ensure that students follow social distancing guidelines, wear their masks, and can access their virtual learning platforms. Thanks to support from the Heights Schools Foundation, this service will be provided at a reduced cost to families. Read more/register
At the middle school level, Open Doors Academy is providing services for several dozen students during the school day.
Census Deadline is September 30
The Census happens every 10 years and shapes funding, representation, and more for our community.
Your Census input is confidential and you can complete the Census online, by phone, or using the form you received in the mail. Census workers will be coming to the doors of those who have not yet completed the Census. To complete the Census without having in-person contact, visit my2020census.gov or call 1-844-330-2020.
Voting Information & Issue 69
The deadline to register to vote in the 2020 General Election is Monday, October 5. You can update your voter registration or register for the first time at VoteOhio.gov. Visit the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website to request a mail-in ballot or find a polling location.
Students who are at least 17 years old and are registered to vote can apply to be poll workers - find information at powerthepolls.org.
On the ballot in November is Issue 69, the CH-UH City School District's additional operating levy. The 4.8-mill levy would cost a homeowner approximately $168 a year, or $14 a month, per $100,000 in home value. Read more
