Welcome!
It is an honor and privilege to serve you this year as your principal. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, leading, growing, connecting, and so much more! I will be posting/sending out this newsletter monthly so that the happenings at Cotton Indian are communicated consistently.
We are gearing up for the best year ever and cannot wait to get started!

Back To School Celebration!
The Stockbridge cluster is hosting a Back to School Celebration occurring on Tuesday, August 3 from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm. The event will occur at Stockbridge High School and will be set up in two distinct locations on campus:
1) Tiger Stadium (outdoor/"field day" events hosted by the SHS Athletic program)
2) The Auxiliary Gym (Club Day). Additionally, we will have food trucks and concessions items available for purchase in the stadium parking lot.
Lastly, we are also attempting to solicit community donations of school supplies, in an effort to give away backpacks or bags of school supplies to students within the Stockbridge community. If you or your business would like to donate supplies, please have them contact Dr. Nunnally at SHS at (770) 474-8747.

We're Hiring!
We are looking for two enthusiastic, compassionate, dedicated people to serve our students this year. Our first opportunity will be as a Temporary Teaching Aide to support first-grade classes this school year. This is a new position that has been gifted to us by the Board of Education with the use of ARPA funds. (This is not a certified teaching position, and a college degree is not required. Additionally, pay is at a daily rate. Substitute training is required and will be scheduled upon an offer of employment.)
We are also seeking a Kindergarten paraprofessional. Please review the job qualifications on the Henry County Schools Careers page HERE.
If you are interested in working in this role, please email your resume and letter of interest to Elyse Durden, Principal, at mercedes.durden@henry.k12.ga.us.
Also, please remember to verify and update your child's enrollment for this school year. This action step is needed for current and new families and only takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Learn how by clicking this link.
Respectfully,
Mrs. Durden
