Picture Day

Mark your calendars for the 2022-2023 school year picture day. Picture Day will take place on Thursday, October 13th. More information will be sent home as the date gets closer.

5th and 6th Grade After School History Club - Fall Session

The Titus History Club is where students who like learning about people, places, and events of the past can get together with others who share their interest. Each week you learn something about history and do an activity. We play games, make or build things, watch videos, and sometimes welcome visitors. The fall session is on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 PM Oct 11th-Nov 29th.

NEW and IMPORTANT: Interest in the History Club continues to grow, but unfortunately, we need to put a limit on the number of people in the club. We would love to include everyone who is interested, but we cannot.

Here’s how to sign up: 1. Use this Sign-Up Genius link https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B4FA9A72AA7FC1-5thand2 from September 20th-28th to enter your 5th or 6th grader into the History Club lottery. 2. On September 28th, 25 names will randomly be chosen to be in the fall session. 3. Everyone will be notified of their status by September 30th. 4. Those who did not make the fall session can be in the winter or spring sessions if interested.

If you have any questions, email Mrs. Schorpp hniemeyerschorpp@cbsd.org

Multi Tiered System of Support (MTSS)

Multi Tiered System of Support (MTSS) is a comprehensive school improvement framework, driven by the problem-solving process, focusing on core instruction and meeting students’ needs. Our goal is to improve performance by assessing all students, identifying specific needs early and modifying instruction quickly using evidence-based practices. During our team meetings, reading and math data is analyzed and discussed. This data is one point which, along with other measures, is used to inform our core instruction and make focused decisions for individual students. MTSS puts the focus on EVERY child.

Your child will take multiple assessments throughout the year including our new Star Assessment in Reading and Math. The MTSS building team works together to review data for all students. Families will be notified if extra support or enrichment is needed. This will be Titus's second year implementing the MTSS framework and our Titus students will all be completing the Star assessments in Reading and Math the week of September 12th. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your child's homeroom teacher.

5th and 6th Grade Chorus

If your child is interested in participating in this year's full year of elementary chorus, please read the letter below from Ms. Feliciani. This choral ensemble will provide each student with the tools necessary to foster musicianship and to develop a sense of pride and friendship. Performances at the elementary level will also prepare the students for opportunities at the middle school like musicals, select groups, and winter/spring concerts

Elementary Instrument Enrollment is Open

Enrollment for our strings and band programs is open this year! Scan the QR code above to register your child to play an instrument. If you have specific questions, please reach out to Ms. Vuocolo (strings) or Mr. Branchfield (band).

DON'T FORGET CLEARANCES ...

Titus will expect all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.

Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child's welfare or has direct contact with children. Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain background checks and clearances. In the best interest of the safety and security of our students, Central Bucks School District required the submission of these clearances prior to volunteering during the school year. Approved volunteers are given an identification card to be presented at the school (along with your photo ID, such as a driver's license) when volunteering. Please allow 7-10 days after you have submitted your online application for receipt of the ID card.

Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances can be found on our district website by clicking here.

Notes from the Nurse

Welcome back to Titus! Just a few quick reminders before we start this school year.

All new students please be sure your immunizations are up to date. Please feel free to send them to my email address once they are complete. If your child’s immunizations are incomplete, you would have received an email from me.

Physical and dental exams

- Students entering Grade 3--Dental Exam

- Students entering Grade 6-- Physical Exam

- Students entering Kindergarten and all students new to the district—will need a completed physical and dental exam.

The completed health forms are due no later than October 14, 2022. Please keep a copy of the health form for your records.

Change in health status: Please notify the nurse if your child has a change in their health status during the school year (surgeries, fractures, and sprains, along with any family or emotional issues that arise). The more information we have concerning your child, the more we can adequately attend to their needs during the school day. If your child had any change in their health status over the summer, please reach us and let us know.

We will see you soon,
