Cold Dark Corner by : Blake Duffy

There's a cold dark corner
in the back of my room,
it speaks to me
and says I'm coming for you.

As I lie on my bed
in the fetal position,
my eyes are closed
hoping and wishing.

Maybe that one day
my dreams will come true,
that I don't have to be here
so down and blue.

The corner keeps talking
about how I'm going to die,
all I can do
is lie there and cry.

As the corner gets closer
and takes me in,
my soul starts to burn
as so does my skin.

My bones shall lie there
turning to dust,
my bed surrounding
nothing but rust.

(( This poem suits me because most of the time, i have a fear of dying and knowing it gets me really upset and scared when i think about it. I really enjoy reading this poem because i think it has a good way of verbalizing my unnecessary fear and i just really enjoy it. ))

Quote: "if nothing saves us from death, at least love should save us from life."

-Pablo Neruda

(( the fact that death is inevitable, gives us a small hope for happiness aka love and I just think that this quote embodies what were fated to become and I think that it's absolutely beautiful.))

Hobbies/Interests: Drawing, Reading, and Baking

Biggest Influences

My biggest influences are most likely my friends, they show me their new interests, hobbies and other things they like. They drag me into the world of different, hilarious things and I love that about them and its really enjoyable to be in their company after secluding myself at home. Another influence is probably the internet and social media sites, they include me to contact new people, learn about what's going on in the world and things that make people laugh and I absolutely love it.

Places that have made an Impact on Me.

Chihuahua, Mexico: it impacted me because I've traveled there many, many times to visit my mothers family and my cousins. Every visit helps me understand the language just a little bit more and it gives me new experiences every time. The place is full of color and vibrant and I love going there and looking at the buildings and shops. I enjoy going to visit my aunts and uncles and cousins.

Los Angeles, California: Los Angeles is a really big part of my childhood experiences because I visited there with my family when I was eight years old and I still remember everything very vividly. We went to Disneyland and Universal Studios, It was an absolutely amazing experience to have.

Tulsa, Oklahoma: Like Chihuahua, I went up to Tulsa yearly with my family when I was younger to visit my father's family and my aunts and uncles and cousins. Usually every visit consisted that we went to the lake near my uncles house and we would go swimming and boating. Its a lovely bonding experience with my family up there and I love going there.
