Head Start Recruits for 16-17!
Inclusion for Children with DIsabilities
Wrap-Around services for Families in your District!
Head Start doesn't just offer education services to needy children. Head Start offers health, dental, mental wellness, and nutrition services to families as well as providing education and training to parents to encourage family engagement with the school and community. Head Start strives to serve and prepare the neediest families in your school district for Kindergarten, especially those families who have children with disabilities.
Speech Only and PPCD!
Use Head Start for inclusion of your children who are already identified with special education disabilities. Head Start is an excellent option for children who are identified as Speech Only!
Please also consider your students participating in the PPCD classrooms for Head Start! The student must spend a minimum of 50% of the school day in the Head Start classroom, but that time can be broken up into inclusion in the activities that are most appropriate for the identified student.
If you have questions or need further guidance, please contact Gina Akin, Region 7 Head Start Disabilities Coordinator by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 903-988-6864.
Parents must apply for a Head Start slot at the local school district. Contact the Family Service Worker at the school campus. Have the parent bring a copy of the most recent ARD!
Parents will receive notification of acceptance early in the summer.
Once the child is accepted into the Head Start program, the child will be enrolled and the family will begin receiving Head Start wrap-around services!
