This 3-hour DECAL training has participants:
1. explore the dynamics of relationship building in early learning
2. analyze how positive relationships with children and families effect positive behavior
3. acquire strategies to foster positive relationships with colleagues, families, and children
4. understand how environment effects behavior
5. learn ways to optimize the physical design of the classroom space
6. understand the importance of environmental cues
7. identify strategies to enhance meaningful communication with children
8. learn ways to build and support classroom community.
Additional Details
- A PC or Mac is recommended for use during the virtual training. Using a Chromebook or phone may limit the participants’ capability to participate in activities during the training. Please check with your IT department to ensure that the Zoom platform is not blocked on school computers.
- Please plan to log into the virtual training site 10-15 minutes before the training start time to ensure that you can troubleshoot any technical issues.
- Please submit a course evaluation at the end of the presentation. Link to the evaluation will be provided during the training.
- This training is virtual and conducted at NO COST for regional school systems by the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI).
- Registration is required and space is limited. This session is "after school hours" so NO SUBS are needed.
