Please Send Extra Masks to School Each Day

We are asking parents to send three masks to school with their children each day. This helps to make sure that students have a fresh mask available if one gets soiled or wet. Thanks for your help in keeping everyone safe at school!

See Yourself in Limestone Census

Families of students in Kindergarten to Grade 3 still have time to complete the See Yourself in Limestone Census this week. We would greatly appreciate your support in taking the time to complete the Census so that every student is included. Truedell's Safe Routes to School Committee

T.P.S. is working collaboratively with the City of Kingston on a project called Safe Routes to School. The focus of the project is on student safety and on increasing rates of active school travel. As a committee of parents, students, school staff, Public Health, and City of Kingston staff we will be meeting to determine and prioritize areas surrounding Truedell that may need some additional attention in order to allow students safe travel to and from the school. The committee will begin meeting approximately once a month in the new year at 6:30 p.m. on Monday evenings.

Priorities of the Safe Routes to School Committee include:

  • safer school zones
  • healthier children
  • less traffic and pollution and
  • better student academic performance

If you or your child in Grades 4-8 are interested in being part of the Safe Routes to School committee, please contact Ms. Jacob at the school.

Ugly Sweater Spirit Day

On the second last day of school before the holidays, students are invited to wear a holiday sweater or an ugly sweater.

Seeking New Or Gently Used Donations of Hats, Gloves, Mittens, and Socks

We are looking for new or gently used hats, gloves, mittens, and socks to be donated to the school. We need them so that we have spares available for students who get their mittens, gloves, or socks wet, or who have forgotten to wear a hat. Extra items that are not needed will be donated to Good Will. Thanks for your support!

Friday December 18th is Pyjama Day!

On the last day of school before the holidays, students are invited to wear their pyjamas to school. Students need to wear their indoor shoes for safety and are reminded to please leave their stuffies, bathrobes, and slippers at home.

The next Virtual Parent Council Meeting is on Monday, December 14th at 6:30 p.m. Please let Ms. Jacob know if you are interested in attending. Parents whose children are attending the Virtual Elementary School are always welcome to attend Truedell's Parent Council meetings.
