Message from the Principal
Dear Slate Hill families,
We love Slate Hill and We love Worthington Schools!
This week is Staff Appreciation! I am so lucky to work at the #bestplaceonearth with the best staff, students and families! Thank you to the many families that have donated items to stuff the Staff Lounge for our RockSTAR team at Slate Hill (pictured here). We appreciate it so much. PTA will also be providing a coffee truck this week for staff too which is one of our favorite things! Also, please refer to the Staff Appreciation Smore sent out last week for different ways your child can show appreciation for their teacher or other staff if you wish.
A few announcements for the 2023-24 school year:
We wanted to let you know about a few more changes happening for next year. We were sad to see Mr. Andy Grizzell leave, but happy for him as he started new adventures in December. We are thrilled to have Mrs. Elaine Wilson as a member of our fourth grade RockSTAR team now and permanently beginning the 2023-24 school year.
Mrs. Meghan Eldridge is also off to new adventures at the end of this school year as she and her husband will be moving to Cincinnati. We are sad to see her leave, but we are happy for her and her husband. We have hired Miss Keely Murphy as our new ELA/Social Studies 5th grade teacher for the 2023-24 school year. We are excited to have her join our RockSTAR 5th grade team next year.
We also wanted to congratulate, Mrs.Joy Nieto, our instructional coach on her retirement end the end of this school year. She supports our teacher in their learning as well as our students. She has been an asset to our RockSTAR team and will be greatly missed. We are happy and excited to welcome, Mrs.Gina Morgan, as our new instructional coach for the 2023-24 school year. She has over 30 years experience in Worthington Schools.
Have you volunteered for a field trip, in the classroom, for a PTA event, etc? We would love to recognize you at our Volunteer Breakfast on May 11th at 7:30am-8:00am in our library. Please fill out this Google form if you plan to attend.
Have a great week!

PTA Spring Fundraiser -Donation Drive!
Every year, with your generous support, the Slate Hill PTA provides funding for various activities such as Star Fun Day, Fall Fest, Staff Appreciation Events, Staff Mini Grants, Senior Scholarship, and much, much more! Part of our revenue also comes from the sale of plants or other product driven fundraisers.
But this year, instead of selling plants or other items, we are going to try something new! Introducing the ‘UN-Fundraiser’! Nothing to sell or buy! No gimmicks! It’s that easy…Just DONATE!
Mrs. Gulley, Mr. Pound, Mrs. Loges, Mrs. Rosengarten and Mx. Kochensparger will get pies in the face on MAY 12th at 2:15pm in front of all of our students for each of the milestones we hit in donations. We will try to live stream this if possible.
Our goal is to reach $2500! We are already half way there. We will continue to accept donations through May 8th! WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
Another great part of the UN-Fundraiser is that you can share it with family and friends! Share this link with your friends and family, and they can donate also!
https://app.memberhub.gives/f4d572 or share the attached flier with your colleagues at work.
Thank you for your support! We cannot do this without you!
