- The talk about countdowns and posting the number of days left in the school can cause anxiety for yourself and other students. Please do not post any “days left” or “count down days”. Keep in mind that many students have a high level of uncertainty when it comes to Summer Break. These can include:
- Not having enough food/hunger
- Lack of air conditioning and electricity
- Divorce
- Loneliness (having to be in the house alone or without an adult for long periods of time)
- Having to babysit younger siblings
- Lack of resources for Six Flags, Vacations and/or Summer Camps
- As we get ready for next year, please be mindful of the following:
- Please do not discuss grade changes with parents or students. This includes teachers who may be leaving BPES or AACPS.
- I have not finalized classroom locations or movement. I do understand the anxiety about possible room changes, but you will be notified once I have finished my plan.
- Ratings
- I am in the process of finishing teacher ratings. Dianna will be emailing you to schedule your Rating Conference. As you get ready to meet with me, please bring the following:
- Write 3 strategies that worked well in your class. Let’s chat about why these three strategies worked well in your class.
- Write 3 areas in which you would like to improve. Let’s chat about how to improve for next year.
- Be mindful that ratings are not personal, but an indication of your instruction. Let’s focus on improvement.
- I am in the process of finishing teacher ratings. Dianna will be emailing you to schedule your Rating Conference. As you get ready to meet with me, please bring the following:
- Staffing
- Teaching in a Title I School can take a toll. Its hard work to close social/emotional gaps and plan for instruction every day. If you are thinking about a switch schools to be closer to home or for a different experience, please let me know. I can assist with interview preparation and give you professional advice.
Staff Shout Outs:
Congrats to Corri and Alyssa
- Karyn for leading testing
- Teachers for changing their schedule
