This sign can be found in a learning specialist's office. A student walked in and asked, "Why does it say, 'All is clam,' on your sign?"

Here's hoping your school year is off to a 'clam' start. This e-mail will come your way from the elementary Instructional coaches on the first and third Friday of each month. It will have student anecdotes, best practice suggestions and let you know where you should be in the e-folio TDE process.

Best Practice - This comes from NEA Today. It's an article (8/1/18) called, 'Best Practices for Connecting with Students'. The quote is from an Illinois teacher named Rebecca Gamboa who has been teaching for 22 years.

"The main thing to remember is it's all about relationships. The whole beginning part of the year has to be establishing relationships because once kids know that you care about them they'll be willing to do whatever you want."

Start thinking about your Individual Growth Plan (IGP) and your areas of focus from the Charlotte Danielson framework.

BTW - You should be able to get into your 2018-2019

e-folio. If you are unable to sign in to your TalentEd folder, please feel free to contact your instructional coach or Doug Stanton. We are here to help.

September 21st is intended to be a PD day without students - Your site will prepare an agenda that may include a brief presentation by your Instructional Coach. Lucky you.

We are on the lookout for stories. If you have a story you'd like to share, we'd love to hear it. If you've got something great going on or know a colleague doing something special, we'd love to let others know about it as well.
