Emergency Preservation Trial Talk
Dr. Tisherman, who leads the trial, will speak
A talk hosted by the Pitt Trauma & Emergency League & the Critical Care Medicine Interest Group (of Pitt Med)
Dr. Tisherman will give a talk about the novel technique "emergency preservation and resuscitation" commonly referred to as "saline suspension surgery." He leads the trial at UPMC now that this technique has been approved for use in trauma patients with severe blood loss--such as gun shot wound victims. This method involves the administration of cooled saline water, buying time for surgeons to operate while body processes are slowed down.
There will be pizza and cookies!!
