A Message from Mrs. Caudill
This week I want to share with you the joy I experienced meeting with a couple different student groups about their STEAM Fair projects. I LOVE how our kids think. All the groups I talked with had an end goal of helping someone or something. How amazing is that?! Thank you for teaching your children's selflessness. Thank you for teaching your children empathy. Thank you for sharing your children with us everyday. They are the reason we do what we do.
Stay Well,
Devon Caudill

BOBCAT FAMILIES MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Thank you to the generosity of all our Amerman families who supported our Win-Win Read-a-thon. As a result of your donations, big and small, our readers raised $2,422. This means that Amerman will be donating $1,211 to the Amerman Playground Fund and $1,211 to UNICEF Ukraine relief efforts.
Thank you to all our families for supporting our student-led community service and fundraising efforts this year.

M-STEP TESTING
The Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress, or M-STEP, is starting soon for our 3rd-5th grade students. The schedule for Amerman's M-Step sessions is included below. It is important that 3rd-5th graders attend school on scheduled testing days. If you know that your child will not be at school on a scheduled testing day, please email Elizabeth LaManna, our building testing coordinator, so she can plan accordingly. If you are wondering how you can help your child to prepare for M-Step, please take a peek at the What Parents Can Do to Help Students Prepare handout from the Michigan Department of Education. Getting a good night's sleep and eating a healthy breakfast the morning of testing are two of the most important ways to prepare for testing.
Please review the letter from State Superintendent Michael Rice with tips for how parents can help students prepare for Michigan Student Test for Educational Progress (M-STEP) testing. You can learn more information about M-Step testing in the What Parents Should Know About Assessments handout from the Michigan Department of Education. The Parent attachments are best practice for all students and provide links for each test. The online practice sample item sets are available for teachers, students and families to review before testing. You can find directions on how to access the online practice sample items sets here.
Below is our current schedule for testing. While we do not plan on making any changes, things happen and the schedule is subject to change.
