Dear Colleagues,

At the start of each May we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. It is a way for all of us to say thank you to everyone of our teachers and staff that work with our students, and to recognize all of you for your efforts and hard work. As I thought about this year's Teacher Appreciation Week, I was reminded of a quote by the philosopher Soren Kierkegaard who said:

"What the teacher is, is more important than what he teaches."

You provide our students with the best education and the best educational experiences possible. What is seen by the public each day is just a small part of what you do to assure our students are successful. Your commitment to our students is truly appreciated. The work, preparation, and concern for our students that happens beyond the school day is a testament to your effort and epitomizes who you are as educators. This may go unnoticed by those outside of education but it is never lost on those of us in the profession.

On behalf of the district administrative team and Board of Education I THANK YOU for all that you do each and every day to make our students' school experience outstanding.
