Message from the Principal
Dear Whittier Parents/Guardians,
This week I wanted to highlight the Big Brother Big Sister program here at Whittier. They are only servicing two schools in Waukesha and we are one of the lucky ones chosen.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America is a 501 non-profit organization whose goal is to help all children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with volunteer mentors. Big Brothers Big Sisters is one of the oldest and largest youth mentoring organizations in the United States.
Please watch the video below as students share their experience with their BIGS. It truly allows the opportunity for young adults to give back to the community and allow our students to build strong and positive relationships with their mentors.
Every week, I feel fortunate to be serving as your principal and supporting all teachers to better serve your students everyday. Building a positive relationship with your child's teacher demonstrates the importance of home and school coming together to best meet the needs of every child.
Have a wonderful weekend! And as always, remind your student to read, read, read!
