Happy Holidays...
Happy Weekend Spartan Families:
As we head into the final 3 school days of 2022, we have so much still to accomplish. If you are feeling frazzled and overwhelmed by the piling "to-do" list for the holidays and winter break...you are not alone.
Next week we'll be together Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Wednesday dismissal at 2pm) with packed schedules in the classroom and special schedules for our visit from the DHS Choraliers and our students v. staff World Cup Soccer Match.
Please check below for some wonderful highlights from the week and some fun challenges for the winter break.
We wish you a warm and wonderful weekend!

From the Shepard Learning Commons
With winter break just around the corner, I wanted to take a moment to share some library-related programs and opportunities for your Spartans.
Winter Reading Challenge--If your child is interested, we are offering a Winter Reading Challenge over break. This form will be available in our Learning Commons or you are welcome to print one at home. Students need to complete five tasks across, down, or diagonally (like a bingo board) and return their completed form to the Learning Commons by Tuesday, January 10, at 3:30 pm to be entered into our gift card raffle. (A heartfelt thank you to our amazing and generous PTSO for supplying us with these gift cards!)
First Fridays Open Mic--Each month we host a talent show called First Fridays Open Mic in our Learning Commons during students' lunch periods. Our next show will be held on Friday, January 13. To participate as a performer, students need to fill out the form sent to their e-mail address (and is accessible through DPS109 e-mails only) by Wednesday, January 11. Winter break is the perfect time to practice for an act for First Fridays!
Deerfield Public Library--Deerfield Public Library is offering some incredible programming in the upcoming weeks for your children. You can learn more by checking out this flyer. Any questions related to this programming should be directed to their staff.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the programming in the Learning Commons or would like my help in supporting your child.
Wishing you and your family the happiest and healthiest of holiday seasons and all the best for 2023!
Sincerely,
Andrea Trudeau
