Burchfield's Bulletin
April 30-May 4, 2018 (School Days 153-157)
A Note From Me
- Final MAP results for some have been outstanding.
- Texas Reads One Book Kick Off was great. "Ralph" showing up was lots of fun. If you need to show the kick off, I've attached it below. I'm sure the kids will get a kick out of seeing it again.
- We ROCKED FIELD DAY!
- "Summer Camp" was a tremendous success. The great audience had so many wonderful things to say about the show.
- Loved Bobcat Pride Breakfast and having parents on campus.
- Hawaiian Day with the Principal of the Day was just fun.
- Poetry Celebrations were excellent and I believe there is one more to go.
- First round of STAAR scores came in on Friday afternoon.
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Your hard work is paying off. Your celebrations with students will continue to encourage them through the end of the year no doubt. The fact is, many remember the celebrations for years to come. Make sure to check out some videos of a couple of your celebrations at the end of the newsletter.
I closing today, I want each of you to know that during the next several weeks, students will still need your understanding, confidence building encouragement, and heartfelt gratitude for their hard work. Everyday is still an opportunity to be more ready for what is to come. The results from the fifth grade Rdg. and Math STAAR landed in my email on Friday. There were celebrations but there were plans made for more progress. It isn't over until it's over. This is such a great attitude for us all. The difference for most is there is no 2nd round.
Consider how you may be able to help another teacher from a testing grade:
Tutoring
(before or after school)
Mentoring
(checking in with a student needing encouragement)
Collaborative Teaching
(during a portion of your conference period)
Your input and assistance may be exactly what that special student needs. Helps for considering how YOU can make a difference.
