Wonder tickets

Have plans to see the movie Wonder? All December long, if you follow this link, Penny Road will receive $1 for every ticket sold! Share with family and friends! We can earn money from anyone seeing the movie, anywhere across the United States.

Chess Club wins big!

This past Sunday, several students from the PRE Chess Club participated in the Triangle Chess Club Tournament held at Green Hope High School. Penny Road had 7 kids in the tournament - one group of 4 and one group of 3. There were well over 150 students there from across the Triangle there! Both teams of Penny Road students placed at the tournament taking home 1st and 2nd place honors! Stop by the office to check out the great trophies and congratulate these students next time you see them!

They did a FANTASTIC job and it was so exciting and fun for them!

Books and Beyond

The kids are doing a great job reading and submitting sheets. Give all our Kindergarten and 1st grade kids a round of applause!

The November class winners are:
Kindergarten: Mrs. Murphy with 47 sheets.
1st grade: We have a tie! Mrs. Daniel and Mrs. Castaneda with 41 sheets.

Don’t forget that in addition to individual awards to be presented at the end of the school year, each month the classes are working hard to win class prizes (special snacks, games for the class, and more).

Look out in your child’s Friday folder before the holiday break for an update on how many sheets we have on record for your child.

Thank you for continuing to help foster a love of reading by participating in this great program!

Bus Riders - Reminder

All students MUST have a bus tag on their book bag in order to ride the school bus. This becomes really important when there is a substitute driver. If you notice your child does not have a tag on their book bag, please contact the school or email Crystal Espey at
