Jingles Around San Diego!
Enjoying the holidays doesn't require a lot of money, if any at all. Spending time with family and/or friends is always enjoyable. Whether you stay at home or go out with your friends, there are many places in San Diego you can go without having to pay anything to enjoy.
Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park
Enjoy free organ concerts at 2:00 pm on Sundays at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park. The Organ Pavilion features one of world's largest outdoor pipe organs, a San Diego landmark since 1914, where organists play traditional favorites, waltzes and show tunes on enormous 32-foot pipes.
December Nights at Balboa Park
Start the holidays with the San Diego largest free holiday festival: December Nights. December 7th and 8th at Balboa Park.
Neighborhood Christmas Lights
Who doesn't love to see Christmas lights? Several neighborhoods around town put on annual displays (competitions?), but perhaps none more venerable than Christmas Circle in Chula Vista, a tradition for over 46 years. People come from all over San Diego to see the wonderful displays. You'll find Christmas Circle between First and Second Avenues, just south of H Street and I Street. Never be bored during the holidays!
While our library will be closed for the holidays, the San Diego County Public Library and the San Diego Public Library will be open during the holiday season. Find a vast of books, in all formats, that you may check out for those idle moments when you have nothing else to do.
The community of Mar Vista Academy has come together along with friends and family to donate new, popular young adult books for our students! Here is the link to our Amazon Wishlist in case you'll like to buy a book for our library.
