Important Information for You!
Well, Davison High School Graduation Day is upon us. I know that this graduation season is very special for a few of you as you have or will be watching your child or family member walk across the stage. It is a very exciting time and I'd like to extend a 'congratulations' to all of you parents with graduating seniors this year.
Also, I would like to thank those staff members that are taking time out of their schedule to participate in DHS Graduation. I sincerely appreciate your participation and know that our students and community appreciate the staff presence on the stage. This is a wonderful event that supports the entire K-12 experience for our school community. Blake Smith has been selected as the commencement speaker for the graduating class. You should have received a free parking pass and should arrive no later than 6:30. Appetizers and light refreshments will be provided. Please let me know if you did not receive your parking pass.
I hope that you are all enjoying 'The Contest', remember that Thursday's Staff Meeting is a very important part of 'The Contest'. It is important that all members of each team be there if at all possible and I sincerely hope that are parapros and other support staff are able to make it! Remember teams should be creativity is key... Also, keep those secret messages coming...I have not received the correct one yet.
Field Day is such a great day for our students and parent volunteers. Thank you to Roy and Anna for all your help with the planning and to Jim for his special mowing of the areas and paths. Roy will have everything staged and ready to go Wednesday morning, but I know he would appreciate anyone who is willing to help haul things out to the back field and get things set up. Please watch for an email Tuesday letting you know what time he will be here to get started. As you all know, with large events, it takes us all for them to be successful.
You all should have gotten the schedule in your mailboxes. As we did last year, we will have sunscreen for you to use and a water bottle to be passed out to each student. Please be sure to write each child's name on the water bottles prior to heading out. Please see me if you have any questions.
Tuesday, June 12th is the last day for check returns for reimbursements to come to school. Any reimbursements completed after that date will need to have your home address on the reimbursement form.
End of Year Duties & Responsibilities-PLEASE READ
You have all received the End of Year Duties and Responsibilities list. I know that Megan Campbell sent out an email about updating IRIPs for the end of the year and documenting parent contact. Remember that parent contact on each IRIP is part of the law and documenting it is an important part of this especially given our students move on. Remember that any and all copies of IRIPs MUST be placed in the CA-60 AND noted on the 'Special Help' card in the CA-60 as well. Since IRIPs are new this year, I totally forgot to add this to the End of Year Duties & Responsibilities list.
A note on closing your classrooms, remember that your classroom is a learning environment until the students have exited the building on the last day of school. While you may begin taking things down to send home, your classroom should continue to look like a classroom. Book shelves are not to be covered until after the last student has exited the building. Not only does this send the right message to the kids that school is school, it also let's parents know that we haven't 'checked out'. Thanks for your diligence these last few weeks!
