Mrs. Walters' News
IMPORTANT REMINDER FOR PARENTS- Any adult that comes into Bushnell, regardless of time of day MUST stop in the office first to obtain a visitor badge. While our doors are open before school to allow for breakfast students to enter upon arrival, it is against school policy for adults to enter through those doors and not obtain a badge. This is for the safety of our students and we appreciate your understanding. In addition, our teachers are busy preparing their classrooms and lessons for the day and rely on this uninterrupted time in the morning. If you would like to speak to a teacher, please set up an appointment so they can plan accordingly.
In the last couple of weeks, I've had several parents raise concerns about our parking lot, specifically the morning drop off. Please be sure to prepare your child to exit your vehicle as quickly as possible (gear, kisses and hugs, unbuckling, etc.). If all drop off parents pull as far forward along the sidewalk as possible, many more children could exit the cars efficiently and keep the line moving.
Current first grade families- please see the letter below from Mrs. Otten, principal of Cherry Creek, regarding upcoming parent meetings as we begin transitioning your students over to their new building next year!
There is a lot of information regarding upcoming events and experiences below- don't forget to keep reading!

Summer Academic Scholarships
2019 Summer Academic Scholarships
Dear Parents:
The teachers and support staff in your school district, through the Lowell Education
Association (LEA), are offering their students Summer Academic Scholarships. Scholarships
are to be used for academically enriching programs. The scholarships are to help cover the
cost of an academic program and are given in amounts not to exceed 50% or $100 of the
total cost of the program. Amounts awarded are dependent on the number of applicants.
Criteria for awarding this year’s scholarships will be established by the scholarship
committee. Sports and church camp applications will not be considered.
It is the responsibility of parents and students to research programs that are available and
to contact that program for an application of enrollment. The scholarship committee does
not have application forms for any program. It is up to the individual applicant to see that
this is taken care of before applying for a scholarship. This is especially important if the
program you are enrolling in has its own deadline. If you are then awarded a scholarship,
the check will be written to you. If your child later decides not to attend a program, please
return the check as soon as possible; the money will be used for other applicants.
Previous scholarships have been awarded for:
Wittenbach Center Camps Computer Classes
Wittenbach Jr. Master Gardener Program FFIC Heritage Camp
Lowell Schools Summer Academic Programs Space Camp
Kendall School of Design Career Camp
John Ball Zoo School Camp Invention
Knollcrest Music Camp MASTA Strings Camp
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Sweetwater Rock Band Camp
GRPM Camp Curious Meijer Gardens Summer Camp
Civic Theatre Arts Day Camp Bricks 4 Kidz Camp
Scholarship applications (see link below) must be submitted no later than Friday, May 3, 2019. Scholarship forms must be filled in correctly and received by the due date to be considered for a scholarship.
Please send forms to Lindsay Bredin at 718 Riverside Dr., Lowell, MI 49331 and
