LCAP 101

This short 2 hour training will focus on a basic overview on the critical elements of the LCAP for any new LCAP writers or those looking for a refresh. Topics will include the history of LCFF funding, statutory requirements when writing an LCAP, stakeholder engagement, timelines, and the 3 criteria for approval.

LCAP Reboot: New LCAP Template Training

Save the date of January 7th for the official training on the New LCAP Template. The LCAP template has undergone significant revisions based on feedback in hopes of reducing redundancy, consolidating where appropriate, and making the document clearer to read.
This full day training will start with an overview of all the new changes to the LCAP template and discussions around how to best organize your new LCAP to easily set goals, monitor metrics, and report expenditures. The afternoon will consist of breakout sessions lead by SCCOE staff around content specific areas and priorities to be included in your LCAP. Specific sessions will be posted at a later date.

Getting Started with Improvement Science
This 4 day training is designed for district and site leaders who are interested in learning more about a process and structure for improvement. Improvement Science comes from the work of the Carnegie Foundation for Education and has been adopted by the state of California as the recommended improvement framework. Attendees will learn how to start with data to identify a Problem of Practice. Then they will learn about tools that help determine the root causes of the problem and how to come up with change ideas to map out a theory for improvement. Lastly, they will learn how to measure and test change ideas to determine if they will produce the desired improved student outcomes.
