We're hiring - Extension 4-H Assistant in Douglas-Sarpy 4-H
Transform lives by delivering, teaching and managing effective educational programming in several areas across the 4H curriculum by providing positive youth development to include current and emerging youth issues in assigned area. Must be able to engage youth through diverse learning strategies at appropriate places and times. Ability to travel within service area. Position is located in Omaha, Nebraska, and serves Douglas/Sarpy Counties. Criminal history background check and driving record review will be conducted. Highlighting Local Youth
From 4-H to Becoming a Husker!
Ellie Ball's 4-H career is a great example of how 4-H prepared her her her life at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is pictured with her earliest 4-H project at the Sarpy County Fair and at IANR on East Campus where she is in her second year at UNL.
Are you interested free tips and hints to prepare for college? "Next Chapter at Nebraska" is being offered this fall for youth in grades 9-12in Douglas and Sarpy Counties at the Douglas-Sarpy Extension Office on Saturdays: October 16, 23, 30 & November 6th from 9:00 AM- 12 Noon.

Diamond Clover Program
The Nebraska 4-H Diamond Clover program encourages 4-H youth to engage in a variety of programs, projects, and activities that will enable youth to acquire skills and abilities that will prepare them for success in the future. The program is designed to reach and recognize all youth engaged in 4-H, from club members and campers to school enrichment, afterschool, and special interest program participants.

End of Year Celebration
Calling all 4-H Families for the End of Year Celebration 2021! Back in person on Tuesday, October 19th at the Sarpy County Fairgrounds 4-H Building. A light meal of sub sandwiches and nachos with cheese will be provided. First 100 4-H'ers inside the building receive a door prize. Come celebrate a great year of 4-H events and competitions. The night will include recognition of accomplishments throughout the year, Diamond Clover recipients, Club of Excellence, Volunteer of Excellence, and 4-Her of the Year. Premium checks will be available to be picked up from 6:00-7:00PM prior to the celebration or 8:00-8:30PM after the ceremony. The celebration will include a light meal from 6:30-7:00PM if you RSVP. Spa Science Day
Join us October 18 from 6-8 pm for our Spa Science Workshop!
In this workshop, youth (ages 8-18) will be using ingredients to create their own candles, sugar scrub, and soap. All supplies will be provided.
This hands-on event will be held at your local 4-H office (8015 W. Center Road).

Space Workshop
Join us November 15 from 6-8 pm for a fun night of science and stars!
In this workshop, youth (ages 8-18) will be engineering their own telescope and learning about constellations in our inflatable planetarium.
This interactive event will be held at your local 4-H office (8015 W. Center Road).

State Wide Opportunities
Don and Martha Romeo Scholarship
The Don and Martha Romeo Scholarship is awarded to one qualifying 4-H male and to one qualifying 4-H female who are graduating seniors in the State of Nebraska and who plan to continue with post high school education for the amount of $500 each. The scholarship will be awarded at the annual NAFM convention in January.

Youth 13 and Older - Become a 4-H Youth Leadership Ambassador!
We are so excited that you are interested in becoming a part of the Nebraska 4-H Youth Leadership Conference Ambassador Team.
As a part of this group we hope you can be a voice on the youth perspective, develop & practice leadership skills that you can take back to your communities, and collaborate with Extension Staff and 4-Hers across the state to plan & implement the 4-H Youth Leadership Conference!
