LibGuides FAQ
BNS/BCS Library
What are LibGuides?
How does BCS use LibGuides?
BCS uses LibGuides in several ways. The library's website is a LibGuide and can be found at http://bcs448.libguides.com. Here, you can find our catalog, our ebook and audiobook collection, and links to resources for students, teachers and families.
LibGuides is used by the BCS librarians to organize and share resources for particular classes or units of study. We post videos, link to articles, and differentiate information according to grade level, reading level, and/or learning style.
LibGuides provides centralized access to library databases and other digital research tools, and is a research platform used by colleges and universities nationwide.
Why LibGuides?
My child doesn't know what LibGuides are. What's with that?
BCS students use LibGuides all the time, but the term is really for librarians. Students interact with Libguides but refer to them by their specific purpose. For example, 7th grade may refer to their Debate Libguide as "the debate page." High school students may call it, "the NoodleTools page." Most students have no idea the library website is housed in LibGuides and their is no reason they would. To them it just looks like a website with a lot of stuff on it. We hope you will look at our site and discover the many ways the library uses LibGuides! Thank you for your support!
