Relationships, Relationships, Relationships!
Wow, what an incredible week at Beulah! We have certainly taken 'All Hands on Deck' to another level after this past week. The week was filled with many, many opportunities to work in a positive way with our students, families, community, and staff (Kids' Fun Run, Fine Arts Festival, Little Feet Meet, SOL/Folk Dance Night, K Registration, Field Day, Lexia Learning, Bus Driver Luau, Penny Wars). Anyone exhausted yet? I hope you all experienced feelings of great accomplishment after last week. Even with nearing the end of the school, Team Beulah actively engages in one of the most eventful weeks of the school year. Please take a minute to be proud of your hard work. Our school did so much last week to support and celebrate kids and showcase our core purpose as educators. Our relationships grew with all stakeholders, and we made strong first impressions with some of our new families. Families shared with me on Friday how proud they are to be part of our amazing school! I am so very proud of each you and greatly appreciate your hard work and dedication to our school. Thank you for continuously giving your time to build relationships and illuminate our school in a positive way!
Thank you... (#allhandsondeck)

- Gifted Games for All Learners: Are you interested in attending an after school professional development training led by our very own, Karen Speers? She is offering to equip teachers with an overview of how high-level thinking games can further help all learners in their brain development and skill sets. The training would include 1 hour of an overview and 1 hour to actually play the games with other teachers to see the huge amounts of critical thinking, collaboration, logic, perseverance, and metacognition. Some titles of the games are: Rush Hour, Hoppers Jr., Banana Grams, Gravity Maze, MasterMind, Cubeitz. Karen has trained other schools and wanted to offer it to Beulah as well. She is very interested in going into your rooms to model/introduce a game for your students. This type of thinking would be perfect to consider implementing in your room in the weeks of June. Money will be budgeted to bring games into our building for your check-out purposes if there is interest. Nichole uses inventive thinking games often in her math class so seek her out if you need any encouragement. Click here to complete the form if you are interested. The form is open through April 27.
- CANVAS: In an effort to do a flipped meeting, click here to view a slide deck on CANVAS, Learning Management System. CCPS is moving to this system for the 2019-20 school year and will spend 2018-19 school year training all employees. A school-wide on-boarding learning module for CANVAS will be shared on June 21 for all interested.
