A Culture of Error

I pulled out my Teach Like a Champion book this week and ran across their definition of Culture of Error: "Create an environment where your students feel safe making and discussing mistakes, so you can spend less time hunting for errors and more time fixing them." I have seen great examples of this in classrooms this week and feel it in my interactions with you. I can ask advice, make suggestions, and admit that I don't know something without feeling anxiety.

NWEA testing got started this week and has been running really smoothly. We provided a small scale model of the culture of error to Mr. Hosick's first hour class while trying to get NWEA testing going the first morning, but we have certainly learned from our mistakes and things are going well. All grades will be testing starting Monday, and I just want to assure you that there is no need for panic. Please print the step-by-step directions that Maranda sent out earlier this week so they are handy. Things are really intuitive once you get into the testing tool. Mrs. Pehle, Mrs. Anderson, and I will be available to help as needed.

Have a great weekend. I hope you can join us for the Bearcat Memorial Induction and Football Friday Night this evening!
