Dismissal and Arrival Rules
Thank you to all parents and guardians for supporting our dismissal and entrance to school rules.
In general, in order keep our children safe during arrival and dismissal we ask that you follow these basic rules.
DISMISSAL
Everyone has been staying out of the bus circle from 235pm to 3pm. This way we have a consistent line of students heading home without automobile distractions.
The car rider line has been good. At dismissal we have two lines because we have school staff monitoring each student going to their car.
Please do not be in a rush, we need everyone to be careful during this time.
Walkers please do not go to the playground until the car rider line has finished. Beginning Tuesday, 10/14/2014, walkers will be dismissed at 245pm.
We ask that once your child leaves school at dismissal, that you do not re-enter school until the students board the last bus. Please do not come in the front door during afternoon bus dismissal. Coming in the front door during bus dismissal, disrupts the organization of the bus riding children.
Please stop at the office and report in at ALL times. All visitors need to have a visitors badge once you report in and leave the office.
YMCA
Parents who use before and after school care should also report to the office to make sure we know who you are and where you are going.
ARRIVAL
Morning car rider line is one lane. Do not start a second lane. The adult on duty welcomes students one car at a time. It is dangerous to let your children out of your car when you are not at one of the two gates near the front of the school.
Again, please stay out of the bus circle. Buses come through this area until 835am.
Be on time. We have a fifteen minute morning recess so that your child can socialize and be on time. Take advantage of this time. Most schools do not offer this benefit.
It is almost mid October, so all students are able to walk into their classrooms on their own. Please respect our school safety rules and stop at the front counter and tell Mrs. LeBeau what you need before entering the building.
Again, please check in before entering the building. If you need to talk to a teacher, contact the office to see if they are available. Then set up an appointment so you have reasonable time to discuss the student's progress.
Box Tops for education
We are collecting box tops for education. Classes with the most box tops will receive a reward.
Please see the flyer that recently came home to sign up Forest Avenue School for Stop and Shop points.
