Grizzly Weekly Update
January 7, 2022
Message from the Principal
We had an awesome first week back with our students. They returned ready to work hard and have a successful second semester. The next few months will be very busy as we prepare for our testing season, scheduling for next year, and our end of the year events. We want to maintain effective communication with you to ensure that all of our students finish the year strong. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions or concerns. We are all here to help you.
Our Blueprint Night: Drafting a Plan for your Future will be on Wed., Jan. 19th at GHS. We’ll have a variety of sessions that evening, so there is definitely something for everyone. Our counseling team will offer sessions for grade levels 8th-10th, and there will be a college and military fair. In addition, we will have sessions about our Advanced Placement (AP) classes and ACC Dual Credit opportunities. We have added a new session focused on TSI College Readiness Assessment information. Students will also have opportunities to talk to our clubs and organizations and learn about some of the things they are doing on campus.
Please help spread the word that this will also be our 8th Grade Night. There will be a special session just for 8th graders and their parents. We have some important information to share with them, and they will be able to take a self-guided tour of the building. We do not want them to miss this opportunity!
This is one of our biggest events of the year, and it’s packed full of information to help you make the most of your student’s high school experience. We will have more information for you next week, but I wanted to make sure you marked this on your calendar. I hope to see you there!

Glenn’s National Honor Society has really contributed to our #1LISD community over the past semester!
We raised over $200 in goods and resources for the Kats Who Kare program at Danielson Middle School. The program is put into place to help less fortunate students/families at the middle school afford a winter holiday experience.
Secondly, earlier this semester, our NHS members contributed to the operation of the LISD Clothing Closet. Members showed up in force to help the closet itemize, sort, and shelve two storehouses worth of clothes.
Lastly, on 12/14 NHS partnered with Jim Plain to craft ornaments, gift bags, and picture frames for the Jim Plain PTA Holiday event.
Again, thank you for supporting our GHS family, and thank you for everything that you do to make our community a part of #1LISD!
From the Dean of Instruction
10th and 11th grade students’ PSAT scores are available. Students should have received an email to their school email address from College Board which included a unique code connecting students to their PSAT Score report. This video helps with decoding the PSAT score report. Students will learn where to focus to best prepare for the SAT and ACT tests in the future. Contact Mrs. Jones with any questions at Paulette.Jones@leanderisd.org
