Attendance
In-person students should be at school every day unless they are sick or quarantined. It is very difficult to plan for students when they are expected at school but then stay home for the day and login. Thank you for your support and understanding on this matter.
Attendance in every class every day is essential for your child's academic growth. In the event that your child cannot be in class, make sure to call the front desk at 303-691-2384. You will receive an automated phone call in the evening if your child was absent from any classes throughout the day if you do not call in to notify us of the absence. You may email teachers to get make up work, but call the front desk, as well.
Specials, Enrichment, and ELD classes are required for all K-8 students.
Staff Appreciation Week May 3 - 7
Spirit Week May 3 - 7
Masks
- Please send your child with a doubled layered mask every day. If possible, please send a backup as there are many times where they need to switch out their mask.
- Remind your child to keep their mask pulled up over their nose.
REMOTE STUDENT MATERIAL DROP OFF, WEDNESDAY, 5/26, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM
CHROMEBOOK RETURN
Remote Students Chromebook Return
Remote students will return their materials on May 26th
All VCS Chromebooks and chargers should also be returned on that day.
In-Person Students Chromebook Return
In-person students will return their Chromebooks on May 27th
Guidelines and Expectations
- Students do not need to return headphones.
- Please walk your child through a basic cleaning of these devices prior to their collection. Here are your Chromebook cleaning guidelines:
- Make sure the device is turned off
- Use the Chlorox/Lysol wipes
- Squeeze the excess liquid out of the wipes before wiping down the devices. This prevents the extra liquid from penetrating the device interior.
- Wipe down the outside, inside (keyboard and mouse)
- Remove any gunky areas of stuck-on residue
- Remove any stickers and their residue (other than the white asset tag)
- Return the charger
Please note that there will be a charge for any damage done to the Chromebook. This includes damage from personalizing (stickers, engraving, etc.).

MEDICATIONS & IMMUNIZATIONS
This is the school nurse Ms. Porter reminding you that if your child has medications needed at school or a health condition needing a health care plan from their physician, please drop them off at the school before they return to hybrid learning on March 22nd or March 23rd. Make sure all medications are properly labeled with your child’s name and prescription when dropping off and physicians orders signed.
Remember if you have not handed in your child’s UPDATED immunizations please send those to me or drop them off at the front desk. If you plan on excusing your child from immunizations, I will need an updated personal or medical exemption form filled out. All these forms can be downloaded below, filled out, and emailed to aporter@vanguardclassical.org.

COVID Testing
Recently, COVIDCheck Colorado (CCC) announced a partnership with the State of Colorado that allows all Colorado residents to access COVID-19 testing free of charge at any CCC site, including the APS Professional Learning and Conference Center (PLCC) north parking lot location.
With the increases in testing at the PLCC, we ask that all community members show up promptly for their registered appointments to minimize wait times. Additionally, CCC will be updating the testing process at the PLCC for more efficient service, including additional testing lanes, increased testing appointments and longer testing hours.
Community members, and others who would like to access tests at the PLCC should register here by clicking the button below.
