It's time to start reading.....

From January 1 to January 31, Autrey Mill will participate in Beanstack’s Fifth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, “Read for a Better World,” sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. We challenge our school to read at least 150,000 minutes during the month and keep track of their reading on our Beanstack site. Students can access Beanstack by going to Classlink, clicking eLibrary, then clicking Beanstack. Thousands of other libraries and schools across the nation are joining in too, for a chance at winning prizes including book collections, signed books, and virtual author visits. Our school is currently ranked #1 in logged minutes in Fulton County, but other schools are catching up quickly!

Happy reading, Lions!

Holiday Check Out Procedures

With the Winter break approaching, to ensure a more efficient way for you to check your child out of school during the day, the following procedure should be followed:

  • In an effort to avoid interrupting instructional time on the intercom, students MUST have a note designating the time that they should meet you in the front office.
  • Notes should be brought to the front office in the morning for authorization. The signed note will allow your child leave class at the designated time and meet you in the front office.
  • Students without notes will not be call out of class until the parent arrives.
  • Transportation changes must be made before 11:00 a.m.
  • NO check-outs without a note after 3:30 p.m.

ANY PRE-APPROVAL SHOULD BE SUBMITTED 5 DAYS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF ABSENCE

Your cooperation with our check-out procedures will help keep classroom interruptions to a minimum and will get you on your way in a timely manner.

News from the Counseling Office

It is that time of year when students start applying for private school for the next school year. Please review the AMMS procedure for these and other information requests.

Requests for Student-Related Paperwork and Information

Student Recommendations and Evaluations

To better assist in the completion and return of student recommendations and evaluations, please use the following procedure when asking teachers or staff members to complete paperwork related to private schools, medical evaluations, sports, etc. Bring paperwork to the Counseling Office. Include student name, grade level and a list of people to provide information.

  1. The counseling office will distribute/collect the paperwork to/from the appropriate teachers. We’ll also provide any additional information that may be requested, i.e. test scores, transcripts, discipline records, etc.
  2. Paperwork will be sent directly to the person, group, or school for whom the information is requested. It will not be returned to the student/parent/guardian.
  3. Please allow at least five business days for all student recommendations and evaluations to be completed.
  4. There is a $5.00 per school fee for private school applications.

The AMMS Counseling Department requests a minimum of one business day to handle requests for the following:

  • Official transcripts
  • Copies of report cards
  • Certificates of attendance
  • Copies of student records
  • Work permits

FCS COVID 19 Reporting Procedures

FCS COVID 19 Reporting

Due to the ever-changing nature of this pandemic, the district will continue to monitor COVID data and recommendations, consult with public health officials, and make additional adjustments as necessary. If your child is sick, please keep them home. Families are still required to report a confirmed positive case of COVID-19, a pending COVID-19 test result (regardless of the reason for testing), and a direct contact with a person who is COVID-19 positive. FCS student/parents must use the Parent Reporting Portal to make the COVID-19 report.
