StJP School Wins NRG Creatively Green Family Arts Festival Award

from Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania and NRG Energy, Inc.

The StJP School has won an NRG Creatively Green Family Arts Festival from Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania, and NRG Energy, Inc. StJP is one of four schools selected from a competitive pool of applicants from New Jersey and Eastern PA.

Winning schools receive the unique opportunity to host a family event for up to 300 people, featuring Young Audiences artists that will celebrate imagination and creativity while promoting a better understanding of individual and community responsibility to protect our planet. The 2-3 hour family arts festival consists of a dynamic performance by a Young Audience artist focusing on the importance of protecting our environment and hands-on art making workshops led by Young Audiences’ professional teaching artists that promote environmental sustainability. In addition, each school receives a 3-day in-school residency where a Young Audiences teaching artist works with a core group of students to create a green community art project to be played, displayed or shared during the festival event.

Founded in 1973, Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania is the premiere arts-in-education resource in the region, providing high-quality performances and artist-in-residence programs to nearly 500,000 children pre-kindergarten through 12th grade annually.
