News and Updates from Bowie HS
Message from Principal Kautzer
Spring is in the air! Our staff is working diligently to transition into our new hybrid learning environment. Thank you to all the families who responded to the hybrid learning survey-- we had a response rate approaching 90%, one of the highest in the district! Here is an overview of the survey response data:
- over 2050 total responses
- ~ 475 students total confirmed for in-person instruction
Please note the following as PGCPS and Bowie HS make the transition to hybrid learning:
- March 29th - April 5th: Spring Break (school closed for all students)
- April 8th: 12th grade students and SPED students who have opted-in may return to in-person learning
- April 15th: all students who opted-in may return to in-person learning
- There will be minor changes to our bell schedule starting April 8th in order to accommodate lunch times for students in the school. Students may have a different 30-minute lunch time, and that will be communicated after Spring Break.
- Principal Kautzer met with student representatives on Friday, 2/26 to discuss their questions about returning to in-person learning; you can view that recording here.
