Hello Northpoint families:
Contrary to how it feels outside, May is right around the corner! Thinking back to when my own four children were younger, I remember how busy the month of May could be with school, sports, and other activities. Enjoy making wonderful memories with your children during this last complete month of the school year and know how much we love this time of year as educators!
Some Northpoint events to anticipate in May are Power Hour, the grade 4 Track and Field Day, our final Wargo Nature Center visits, and, of course, the PTO Northpoint Carnival. Please watch for updates from your child’s teacher and this newsletter for the specific dates of upcoming events.
One event happening in our district right now is the high school musical. “Oklahoma!” is a show that’s good for all ages and a fun way to introduce younger students to their future options at SLP Schools. Check it out this weekend. See more information below.
At this point in the school year, it’s fun to watch our children learning to read using our two new core resources, Wit and Wisdom, and Fundations. It has been very rewarding. I have observed our young friends talking and writing about their reading more than ever, and the depth to their learning is evident in their work. Thanks to our teachers for embracing these new resources and creating rich, personalized learning experiences for our Northpoint students.
We are excited to be in the designing stage in anticipation for the upcoming school year. Please look for further updates from me in this newsletter in the coming weeks as we roll out some plans for 2022-2023!
Take care,
Judi
