Important- Your Help Needed
Although breakfast and lunch are currently free for all students as a result of a USDA grant, it is vitally important that families complete the Free/Reduced lunch application. Building and district-level free and reduced lunch numbers are used by the federal government to determine funding which ultimately impacts staffing. All families are encouraged to complete the Free/Reduced lunch application (linked below) to see if they qualify. If you prefer a paper application, please let me know and one will be sent home with your child.
Some helpful reminders...
- Please send any changes in transportation with your child in the morning, if possible. This gives the teachers an opportunity to remind your child, if appropriate.
- Remind your child of any changes.
- Keep your pick up number displayed in your car until your child comes to your vehicle. This assists our helpers in getting your child to your car as quickly and safely as possible.
- Continue to pull all the way forward. This helps tremendously in getting all the cars through the line quickly and safely.
Emmons Lake Community Kindness! Keep it going!
SCRIP The Scrip program provides another great way to earn extra cash for our school AND extra cash for your family! You simply purchase the Scrip gift cards at face value and use them toward purchases at stores where you normally shop. The retailers donate a portion of that money back to our school. 50% of the profit goes to the PTO and the other 50% is given to you quarterly by check or you can donate back to the school. Scrip can be ordered online at www.shopwithscrip.com; gift cards can be printed from your home printer and you can reload gift cards instantly, also. The Emmons Lake enrollment code is: FF864CE71895. If you have any questions, please contact Andrea McKenna at andreamckenna6@gmail.com. Happy Shopping!

School & Community Opportunities
DIRECT YOUR DOLLARS - SpartanNash Receipts
Emmons Lake has the opportunity to earn $1000 from SpartanNash, simply by shopping at any local company-owned store, including Family Fare Supermarkets, D&W Fresh Markets and Hardings Grocery and sending the receipt to school! This is VERY helpful, especially this year because we are unable to have any fundraisers thus far and we didn't have any at the end of last year!! Through the “Direct Your Dollars” program, we can turn eligible receipts into cash for our school! Just send your receipts to school with your child to give to his/her teacher. For every $150,000 in receipts we collect, we will earn a $1,000 donation from SpartanNash. We do need original receipts, so no photocopies. Start sending in those receipts!! We’ll collect them throughout the year. With your support – and your receipts – we’ll be raising money for our school. It’s easy to do!!!!

Message from the Principal...
It is May! Wow, how did that happen so quickly!? This week we celebrate all of our educators at Emmons Lake Elementary. Thank you to the dedicated professionals who work to serve our amazing students. Special thaks to the Emmons Lake PTO and families for sharing your gratitude w/ a special week.
Students are working to wrap up end of year assessments. Thank you to all the families who have donated snacks to help add a special treat to our students! We are so proud of all our students as they show off their learning! In the next few weeks, we will start to embrace new ideas to old traditions of celebrating our students. Thank you in advance for your understanding of the different ways we need to do things. We know it isn't the year we all imagined but we are grateful to have had a wonderful year with all of you!
Grateful to Serve With You,
Mrs. Schultz
