# Physics 101

## Physics- the science of how things work!

Sir Isaac Newton helped people look at the science of things differently. Before him, people were unaware that things moved for certain scientific and logical reasons, and if they did, they were unable to explain the reasons why.

## Three Laws of Motion- please watch these modules!

Which module was most helpful to you? Please comment on one giving 2 reasons why it was helpful to you in a Google Doc or in your science notebook! and collaborate with your classmates on Edmodo about Newton and ways these laws are demonstrated in your life.

## While watching this cartoonic presentation... please address these questions! ( make sure to label your answers A1, A2 etc)

Q1? What force allows the falling piece of cliff to fall?

Q2? What force allows the falling piece of cliff in the shape of a wedge to stop?

Q3? Can either character stand at the top of the loop-dee-loop? Please give a scientific and physical reason for your answer!

Q4? What force allows the rocket thingy to move?

Q5? Please apply 1-3 of the laws of motion to this cartoon. Be able to explain why something can or can not move in relation to Newton's 3 Laws of Motion. Please record in notebook or explain in a Google Doc.

## Making our life and work easier!

Simple machines are another physics topic easily explored through the Road Runner series!

Visit these sights then watch the following episode to begin building your simple machine design!

Take this fun quiz to see how well your are understanding Simple Machines! please report back to me and tell me how you did in a Google Doc or here or in your science notebook!

Finally, view this RR and record all the simple machines that are used in your science notebook or Google Doc!
