LEGENDS' Letter
May 15 - 23, 2019
This is the Final Legends' Letter
Happy Birthday. . .
Summer Birthdays
Farewell, WRJH!
LEGENDS,
I want to dedicate this week's Staff Spotlight to each and every one of you!! Over the last four years, we have all worked so hard to ensure that our students receive the very best education! The work has been long and tireless. We have had many successes, a few failures, and have made countless memories, both as a staff and for our students.
I am honored to have been able to work with such a dedicated group of educators for the last few years. Each year, WRJH has seen people come and go, but everyone whom I've had the privilege of working with has taught me something about the field of education and about myself as an individual.
WRJH gave me my first administrative experience, and I will always be grateful for all that I have learned in my time here. Through the years I have learned some of the following important tidbits (and I say "some" because the list is endless):
- Relationships with and between adults are just as important as relationships with children.
- When people (staff and students) feel like they belong, the dedication to the work will follow.
- Meetings at 8:15 really mean 8:20, because most of us are dashing through the door at 8:15. The exception to this rule is if the meeting invite or agenda says "PROMPTLY at 8:15," which means 8:17.
- Although Tammy has the volume for announcements, Nick definitely has "The Golden Voice."
- Amie, DC Coordinator extraordinaire, will always be the "mom" of the group and Susan will always come up with the best games.
- The copier in the mail room and in the library will not work at the same time other than the first and last weeks of school.
- Patrick C., Christina, Josh and Brittany B. pulled together like no other to make up for an untimely absence. (Our staff is fantastic about things like that!!)
- Bobbi doesn't play about her attendance. And will box your ears if you disagree.
- You can never tell from the videos that Katie and Shelly do their planning by the pool.
- Joan's Oompaloompas are a little bit of everywhere, filing things and pulling them out of their cabinets.
- Feeling down? See Jeremy; he will always provide a bright spot!
- Brad's passion for his content has enabled us to see a transformation of the halls and common areas of WRJH take place right before our eyes.
- Patti will clear a hallway or a crosswalk in a hot minute!!
- The prime time to leave campus is either before 3:45 or after 4:15 if you hope to make it to you destination on time.
- Testing time? Awards ceremony? Stay out of Tammy's way! And if you do, by chance, happen to track her down, she will always greet you with a smile.
- Parking in the back lot is a quick way into the building if you are coming in with arrival traffic.
- Emily is one of the only -- if not THE ONLY -- staff member who consistently eats in the staff lounge.
- Amber is EXTRAordinary!! Our kiddos would be lost with out her patience and guidance.
- Amber and the kitchen staff have lightened up the whole feel of the cafeteria!!
- Brittany A. never needs a mic -- EVER!! (Which helps because the speakers often go out.)
- Tim secretly LOVES arrival duty! (Don't let him tell you differently.)
- Kelly knows how to do just about anything -- and will find out if she doesn't know.
- Amanda and Brittany B. will find a way to rock an incentive!!
- Jodie, Lori, Jason and Emma will be in and out like The Flash! We hear the theme song, but rarely see them.
- #01 is for inside announcements, and #00 is for inside and outside announcements. (This comes in handy when announcing student names or a call to an IEP/504 meeting).
- Kelsie is the sweetest person you'd meet -- and has a pretty cool lesson using QR codes and scavenger hunting.
- Ebony is THE calm. Period.
- Matt will make sure that a visit to OMUN will guarantee our students have fun and are successful while there.
- All of the kids want to visit Akeyla -- no matter what period.
- Stephanie is confident enough to wear 6 inch heels!!
- Nadia le encanta enseñar español a nuestros pequeños.
- Tom's salute, though a joke at first, has become a welcomed part of my day.
- Andrea I. has never had a hair out of place . . . although some of the kids in PASS have probably made her want to pull it out.
- Craig builds relationships with kids, and he has the dots to prove it!
- Julie has the sweetest voice (I've used her on Instant Connect more than once) and gives great hugs!
- WRJH has a fertile staff, as evidenced by the fact that we've seen seven little Legends enter the world between last school year and this school year.
- Chic has never been in a Staff photo. . . but I snuck a secret pic of him to photo-shop into this year's yearbook. (Just kidding Chic!!
- Bill will not ignore the radio or a call for help!
- Nyesha is the face. (And giver of the "Golden Ticket"!)
- Ben is the voice. (And the SCARY one!)
- Erica, Andrea R., Pat D., Andrea A., Juliette, Kaylah, Jaycie, Sarah, Melissa, Jennifer, Jessica and Sara have all become a welcome part of the staff and have quickly learned the "Reynoldsburg way"!!
I have loved my time at WRJH, and will take all of these experiences into 9X to help prepare our 8th graders for high school. To say that you all will be missed is an understatement. I am grateful to have worked with you all, and will be checking in on from time to time. Have a fantastic summer, and best of luck to you all next year!

EOY Staff Outing
Wednesday May 22nd at 6:30 will be the final staff outing of the year.
We will be going to a Columbus Clippers game, the game starts at 6:35. I know that a few groups of people have already bought tickets, which is great! You can purchase tickets on your own, they are roughly $7-20 depending on seating. This will be a family/kid friendly event. Please bring the entire crew out for the day before the last day school!
