Punishment in the Roman Empire
In the Roman Empire, when a crime was commited, they would try to match the punishment with the crime.
The different types of punishment
The first one is a fine. This is just where you pay money. The second type of punishment is you would be beaten. The next type is banishment. That is where you have to leave Rome forever. The next is you would have to become a slave. The next is exacution, but only if there is proof that you are gulity. The next is Patricide. That is where you have to kill your father (mostly done in a drowning manner). The last is if you are a slave, you would be beaten, you would have harder work, or more often to be crusified.
