Hebron Hawk Community Newsletter
October 3rd, 2022
As a part of this year's One LISD theme, our district is more committed than ever to bringing our communities closer together. One way we plan to do so is by sending newsletters to each feeder pattern throughout the 2022-23 school year. Our hope is that these newsletters give you a glimpse into the great things happening at LISD schools and inform you of any upcoming community opportunities.
Happy Homecoming!
We had a blast celebrating Homecoming with the Hebron community. This year's theme was "Out of This World," and staff and students dressed up accordingly.

When the 2022 Hebron football season kicked off on August 26, the Hawks had a new head coach on the sidelines for the first time since 1999 – the year the school opened. John Towels III was named the second head football coach in Hebron history on June 10, taking over for Brian Brazil, who announced his retirement from coaching in May after 22 seasons and a 152-97 record leading Hebron, including winning the 2005 4A Div. Kindness Comes Full Circle at Hebron Valley
One classroom at Hebron Valley Elementary is focused on encouraging kindness. In Tina Montegudo’s second-grade classroom, the makings of a wreath hang on the inside of her door. A handful of colorful and neatly tied ribbons break up the concentric wire circles. These, Tina explains, are physical representations of kind acts performed by her students. READ MORE
STEM Education Is Out of This World!
At Creek Valley, STEM education is out of this world. 6th grade STEM students have been taking flight in their first STEM challenge of the year. The challenge, Spacecraft Safety, seeks to answer the question of what accommodations are needed to enable manned space flight. To answer this question, students worked in teams to build a model of a spacecraft using select classroom materials. These materials had to be “purchased” from the classroom store, as the students maintained a team budget of $4.00. Their spacecraft had to include seats for astronauts, a hatch for the astronauts to enter and exit, and even a fuel tank. READ MORE

Over 90 different languages are spoken by the nearly 50,000 students in Lewisville ISD. First Day of School at Killian Middle School
Students arrived on campus ready for the 2022-23 school year! They were welcomed into the building by staff members singing songs, giving out high-fives and even sporting some Mustang costumes. As students made their way to their classrooms, the sound of post-summer reunions filled the halls. Killian staff met their new students, and the learning was officially underway. We can’t wait to see what all of our Mustangs will accomplish in the coming months! SEE PHOTOS
