Air Quality
Smoking will not be permitted on school property, including where it is visible to students. During the Ozone Season (usually in late summer when levels of ozone in the troposphere can reach dangerous levels), the Air Quality Index will be evaluated and monitored.
Education on Sun Safety/T.A.O.D Abuse
Students will be educated on the harmful effects of the sun and ways to protect their skin as well as sun-safe skills, including seeking shade and limiting sun exposure when possible and practical during the hours of peak sun intensity. Students in 5th and 6th grade will also view videos on T.A.O.D (Tobacco, Alcohol and Other Drugs) Abuse and be taught how to prevent it from happening.
