Anne Frank legacy

When thinking about the Holocaust many people start thinking about Anne Frank. Though Anne did not survive the Holocaust, her memories and stories did. We remember Anne Frank because she was a young girl who never gave up hope during one of the hardest times in the world. Also, because she wrote in her diary about the Holocaust, which later gave us lots of information on what was happening to people during that time.

Always Having Hope

In the play it said that: " In spite of everything., I still believe that people are really good at heart." This is showing us that she never gave up hope, and she always believed there was good in people no matter what happened. When people are asked to think about a person that inspires them, a lot of people think of Anne Frank. Even though she died young, we still remember Anne Frank for inspiring hope, and her kind ways about life.

The Diary

Laurence Gonzales stated that: "in some cases survival is not simply a matter of how long you live, but how well you live." This is exactly what Anne Frank did. She died when she was only 15 years old, but in those 15 years she managed to help spread the word about the Holocaust and let people know what was actually happening during those times. Anne Frank did not know it at the time, but when she was writing in her diary she actually helped save peoples lives. Without her personal experiences we would not feel as strong of an emotional connection to the Holocaust, and we would not have as much information on how to prevent it, if it ever starts to happen again in the future. We still remember Anne Frank for her courage, and the strong information that she told us about what was happening to the Jews during the Holocaust.

The War

Anne wrote in her diary "I could spend hours telling you about the suffering the war has brought, but I’d only make myself more miserable. All we can do is wait, as calmly as possible, for it to end. Jews and Christians alike are waiting, the whole world is waiting, and many are waiting for death." Anne was informing her friend about all the suffering and pain everyone involved with the Holocaust is going through during this time. Anne Franks bravery is one of the reasons why we still remember her to this day. It took a lot of courage writing in her diary about the war because, if someone were to get ahold of it, then her entire family could have been in danger.

Its all over

Anne Frank was just 15 years old when she died. She did not deserve to die the way she did, but without her diary and her real life story people might not react the way they do when thinking of the Holocaust. The Holocaust is a sad time in life that not many people know all the details about. But, when they do think about the Holocaust Anne Frank comes to mind for her bravery, her hope, and her inspiring life story that touches the heart of millions of people around the world still to this day.
