LetterReflex, Movable Write, and Sound Sorting. The LetterReflex app is fantastic for those students with letter and number reversals.
Math
There is a variety of different math practice concepts. I have tried to choose apps that are not strictly drill and practice apps. I also find we do a lot more hands on math but I do have students that love to practice math facts on iPads. The following apps I would recommend are Monkey Math, QCount, Marble Math Jr, Math Drills Lite, Bugs and Button, FingerCountLite, Hungry Fish, Top It Addition, Subtraction Sardines, Squeeze, Adding Apples, Zoom, Caboose, Rocket Math, Math Bingo, PopMath, What's Next, KidCalc, and Find Sums.

This summer, there are many things that you can do with your child to keep them learning:
1. Go to the public library and check out books
2. Have your child write about all their summer adventures.
3. Read with them for 10 minutes every night. This can be some precious time for you to enjoy your child!
4. Go to www.starfall.com, dovewhisper.com and www.pbskids.org for many reading and math games.
5. See the list of summer learning suggestions attached to this newsletter J

Wylie ISD 2017-18 Calendar Release
If you have not seen the updated calendar for next year, it is posted on the district website. There is a survey that you can give feedback regarding changes you would like to see.
For the most part, it is similar to this year's. Some changes that have occurred include:
- School will start August 21, the third Monday of August, opposed to the fourth Monday. The district applied for a waiver to do this.
- Christmas Break starts on a Thursday and ends on a Tuesday, making the break for staff 13 days, opposed to the typical 16 days.
- They added a teacher work day following Christmas Break.
- Spring Break is now aligned with Dallas County and Collin County community colleges. So it is now the 2nd week of March.
