SCS Curriculum
This has been developed after professional development across the school and consultation with the school community last year.
It weaves together our Waka Hoe (positive behaviour management focus), our Whetū Ako (our inquiry process) and our learning contexts (Awa) that strengthen literacy and mathematics.
This drives our learning at SCS, and we look forward to sharing children learning around this further as we move forward.

Tēnā koutou
It's been a busy start to the term. We welcome Luka B to the school and his whānau to the community. It's great to have them as part of our community and wish them happy school days here at Spring Creek School.
Last week we had our final session with Mako Connect & Inspire Rugby Programme. The children enjoyed the three sessions led by Quentin MacDonald.
Last week we also farewelled our Community Constable Josh Reidie, who has resigned from his position. He was well known by the staff, children, and the community and will be missed in the school, where he supported with a number of programmes and activities. We thank Josh for his contributions and wish him well in his future pursuits. His replacement is yet to be confirmed.
On Monday this week, we've had the ASB St John's in Schools programme running in all classes across the school. It was great to see all children getting a grounding in basic first aid that they will have if it's ever needed in the future.
On Friday we are excited to be starting our Year 6 SCS Mural Project, with the support of Kate Vavasour and KiwiCan. Our Year 6 children will be designing and painting a large 4 piece mural to go on the end of the administration block. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting project.
Next week we have the Life Education Trust Mobile Classroom visiting on Wednesday and Thursday. The cost of this programme is covered by the school. Children will all be participating in two sessions with Genevieve (and Harold). Focuses have been tailored for each of the classes, covering Friendship, Resilience, Identity, Empathy and Kindness.
Please be aware we are currently experiencing some staff absences due to sickness, and are working to ensure cover is as seamless as possible. We thank you all for your patience and understanding around this.
